Stepping back in time

Faire-55We enjoyed a cooler late summer bordering on fall afternoon wandering around Shrewsbury Faire outside of Monmouth, Oregon.  I love this faire!  It seems like more than half the people who attend dress in Medieval attire.  It’s nice too because the costumes run the gamut from royalty to beggar on the street.  There are jousting tournament, weavers, herbalists, actors and singers on stage, pubs and lots kids activities – like rat catching (not real ones!), sword fighting and archery.  And the crafts are really handmade and not as commercial as other faire’s we’ve attended. Of course I took way too many pictures (most of which I’ve included here!)….and had a huge non-Medieval mint chocolate chip ice cream cone.  Sigh.  Enjoy the slide show!
