The city of McMinnville, Oregon hosts a UFO festival each year. The festival began as a way to honor the famous 1950 Trent sighting in which two local citizens witnessed and photographed a UFO, said to be some of the most credible images of UFOs to date. This year, we decided to check it out. Oh my goodness….thousands of people wandered the downtown streets in various alien costumes (a boon to McMinnville’s incredible restaurants and shops). The festivities included an Alien Abduction Dash, an Alien Pet Costume contest and a UFO parade. After enjoying the sights, we stayed to watch the parade….we got lucky and saw Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker and some other pretty strange characters. Here’s my take on the day. Enjoy!!
