Every year just about a week before Christmas, Mission Mill and the historic homes at The Willamette Heritage Center in Salem, Oregon get decked out in thousands of colored lights. Carolers stroll by, Santa opens his workshop, children ooh and ahhh, and the shops are filled with Christmas themed gifts. I like to go just for the lights. I always shoot for bokeh and this year was no exception. But this time, I added some fun cut-outs (stars, dog paw prints, hearts) that when placed over my 50 mm lens create really cool bokeh. Bruce Springsteen’s song came to mind as I was getting these images ready for my blog. So if you know the words, sing along as you delight in the magic of The Willamette Heritage Center and the magic of bokeh. Enjoy!
