OK….so I just went to the Oregon Zoo. But what a wonderful zoo it is – we always have a great time and come home smiling! It was the perfect day too with the temperature right around 67 and soft breezes. Most of the animals were out and even with the crowds we had the chance to see everything. In 2015 the Oregon Zoo will open a gorgeous six acre habitat for the elephants and re-route the Zoo Train. The new habitat will let visitors get closer to the elephants and give an entire herd the freedom they love. I took my 70-300mm lens since it’s a good one to use when shooting through wire enclosures or through glass. The lion and lioness were out with their cubs (teenagers I think), the Sun Bear was enjoying a snack, the flamingos were posing and after climbing rocks all day, the Mountain Goats were napping. The slide show gives you just a glimpse of my “into- the-wild” day. Enjoy!
