Spring in Oregon is ushered in at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival near Woodburn. I always try to go at least one time not for the tulips but because of the kids. There is nothing cuter than little kids in tulip fields. I love to watch all the parents squatting in the tulip rows directing their little girl or boy to…”smell the tulips”….”look at the red ones”…”sit here”.
It’s amazing because parents will take their children when it’s pouring down rain and there is sticky mud in between the tulip rows. I went on an overcast day…I actually prefer shooting on an overcast day and since I’m not one to get up at the crack of dawn for that glorious sunrise shot that most photographers want…and get…I decided to stick with the kids. They always look joyful and free…between the cacophony of color and the children laughing I can’t think of a more enjoyable way to spend a spring afternoon in Oregon.
